UNC Seeks Quick Passage Of Establishment Bill

pro-one Nigeria organisation known as United Nigerian Chaplaincy (UNC)
has called on the National Assembly (NASS) to expedite action on the
passage of the bill now before it seeking for and Act to establish the
organisation legally.
Making this call in Abuja during
an orientation programme organised for zonal and state top-ranking
officers of the outfit from across the country at the weekend, the
Commandant-General and Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT) of UNC,
Jidejesus Josiah Ejie, his organisation has been working in conjunction
alongside other relevant agencies with a view to restoring Peace in
troubled parts of the country.
He said the
organisation’s primary objective is to defend the unity and peace of the
country through technically designed civil approach.
According
to Ejie, in a letter sent to UNC recently, the Senate President
acknowledged that the bill was already before the NASS, stressing that
what is important now is to ensure that it is passed as soon as
possiJusticeble to give legal backing to UNC’s operations.
”
We are out to ensure speedy dispensation of justice that will
facilitate decongestion of prisons and out-of-court settlement accros
the country.
“Our men will have to go round prisons to look into people’s cases with a view to ensuring that cases of inmates who have stayed for too long withouts getting justice are taken care of even if it is out of court,” he said.

The UNC boss stated that
the organisation was part of the efforts that led to the successes
recorded against terrorism in the North-east and herders-farmers clash
in Benue State.
