Emir of Gombe Sponsors 1,500 Less-Privileged Students
Emir of Gombe Sponsors 1,500 Less-Privileged Students
By Muhammad Bappah Idaya.
This day, 10th September, 2016, His Majesty, the emir of Gombe, Alh. Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III is yet again doing what he does best- empowering the vulnerable among us. Some 1,500 less privileged, internally displaced persons and the lowest stratum in the state will be enrolled in to primary school with learning utensils, such as books, bags, shoes, uniform etc. to be provided by the Shehu Usman Abubakar Foundation. A Trust established by our amiable emir, Dr. Abubakar Shehu III.
You may recall this education intervention was rolled out last year where thousands of students benefited and by the grace of Allah (SWA) it's being done today again and will continue in years to come in sha Allah.
The emir is of the strong conviction that educated society is a developed society, hence his unalloyed support for any initiative to strengthen education in Gombe state. The emir believes education could provide an enduring panacea to the social ills bedeviling our communities. Having acknowledged the centrality of education in emancipating otherwise docile, suppressed, unemployed masses; the emir has taken it upon himself to place promotion of education on top of his cardinal principles. His Majesty largely uses his personal income and leverage to carry out these education sponsorship interventions because it's very close to his kind heart.
