Hausa Teenage Boy Commits Suicide Over Failed Marriage Proposal
Residents of Ganjuwa
local government area of Bauchi state have been thrown into mourning
following the discovery of the dead body of a 17 year old man who
allegedly committed suicide over a failed marriage proposal.
According to a press
release by the State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Haruna
Mohammed, the Victim, Usman Abdu, who hails from Ganja ward in Ganjuwa
local government area of Bauchi State committed the act on the 13th of
May 2016 at around 9pm by hanging himself on a tree with rope.
DSP Mohammed said that
the scene of incident was visited by Police detectives led by the DPO in
Soro Police Division of the local government and the victim was
photographed and rushed to Soro hospital where he was certified dead by a
medical doctor.
“Preliminary
investigation revealed that victim hanged himself when his cousin, a 12
years old girl of the same address rejected his marriage proposal”
“Exhibit recovered include rope which the victim used in hanging himself
while the corpse has released to relative for burial after postmortem
examinations. The PPRO said
