Biafra: We’re Capable Of Stopping Violent Protests – UNC

 

The United Nigerian Chaplaincy (UNC) has bragged that it is the only body capable of stopping the pro-Biafran protests in the South East and stop any other form of violence from taking place in Nigeria.
The group said this power lies in its ability to integrate the various dominant religious and ethnic groups in the country.
An executive board member of UNC, Ogemdi Ezeh stated this yesterday at the swearing-in ceremony of the 29 new board members in Abuja and accused the political class of fuelling the embers of violence in the country.
“There is no problem or battle in this country that is not emanating from one church or mosque and 99 per cent of Nigerians claim to be Christians or Muslims. That’s why the UNC says it is both a Christian and Muslim group combining together efforts in search of peace,” Ezeh said.
He said: “If both religious groups would talk to their members, there will be no battle. That is why I said UNC is the only body that is capable of stopping any battle from taking place.”
He maintained that the group is against any form of violence for the interest of peace in Nigerians and that the waves of protests in the eastern region should be arrested.
